7.14.26 - Happy Bastille Day! Today is a national holiday in France, marking the anniversary of the fall on July 14, 1789, of the Bastille, in the city of Paris, France. It was the beginning of the French Revolution, and it thus became a symbol of the end of the ancien régime. The national anthem, "La Marseillaise" was written in 1792, during the war against Austria.		7.8.26 - Happy Birthday, Percy Grainger! George Percy Grainger was an Australian composer, arranger, conductor, and pianist, born at Brighton, in 1882. He moved to the USA in 1914 and became an American citizen in 1918. Some of his famous works included "Molly on the Shore", "The Warriors" and "Country Gardens", all in various ensemble arrangements.

7.4.26 - Happy 200th Birthday, Stephen Foster! Stephen Collins Foster, also known as "the father of American music." He wrote music for the parlor, the minstrel show, and the Sunday School. His most famous songs included "Oh, Susanna", "Camptown Races", and "My Old Kentucky Home."		7.4.26 - Happy Birthday, America! Independence Day, known colloquially as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States which commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America. Ms. Lee created a series of patriotic lessons regarding the United States of America.
